MIMLS
Malaysian Institute of Medical Laboratory Sciences (MIMLS) is the professional organisation for the Medical Laboratory Practitioners in Malaysia. MIMLS was officially established and incorporated on 31 December 1992.
The founding members of this corporate body were the Institute of Medical and Health Laboratory Technology (IMHLT), the Malaysian Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists (MSMLT) and the National Institute of Medical Laboratory Technology (NIMLT), representing the MLT's from the Ministry of Health (MOH), University of Malaya (UM) and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) respectively. It took more than 2 decades to transform these three seperate entities into a single body.
At the international level MIMLS is a member of the ASEAN Association for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (AACLS) formerly known as The ASEAN Association of Medical Laboratory Technologists (AAMLT). MIMLS is one of the founder member of the Asia Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (AAMLS).
